For the record, and as I said earlier, I am generally pretty skeptical of the benefits of the space program in general, and of human-space travel in particular ? at least as government-funded projects. If the world’s billionaires want to put their money toward a Mars colony or whatever, great, but I think it’d be a doomed venture. Antarctica is obviously closer, cheaper to get to, probably has more exploitable natural resources and is vastly more hospitable to life, but how many people want to go there? I doubt very much we will ever get off this planet, at least not with the sorry meat-suits we currently have for our physical bodies. Maybe one day we’ll colonize the galaxy with artificially-intelligent, self-replicating robots or such, but extended space-travel as we currently are is a non-starter. cheap oakley sunglasses http://www.sulset.net
